SEN Teaching Assistant | Waltham Forest
An inclusive primary school in Waltham Forest is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This SEN Teaching Assistant position provides the opportunity to support pupils who require additional guidance to succeed academically and socially.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Waltham Forest, you will work closely with pupils with needs such as ASD, SEMH, and speech and language difficulties. Support will be provided both in class and through structured interventions. The SEN Teaching Assistant will collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to follow personalised support plans.
The role involves supporting learning activities, assisting with emotional regulation, and encouraging positive behaviour. The SEN Teaching Assistant will also contribute to progress tracking and provide feedback to teaching staff. Building strong relationships with pupils is a key part of this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEN pupils and demonstrate empathy, patience, and adaptability. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. The school values staff who are reflective, committed, and reliable.
