Mobile Automotive Technician - Shepherd's Bush
Join Our Team as a Mobile Vehicle Technician
Step into a new era of mobile repair with our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division!
What We Offer
- A competitive base salary of £45,378 (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance, if applicable), with on-target earnings of up to £57,000.
- Guaranteed overtime options to boost your earnings, along with additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
- 40 hours per week, with core hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
A Different Kind of Role
The SMR division is a fast-growing part of our organization, focused on delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to our members—from their driveway to their workplace car park. Forget emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts; here, you’ll work through a scheduled list of jobs, equipped with the time, tools, and support needed to perform quality work.
Your Daily Responsibilities
Your day begins with a clear digital schedule, where each job is pre-booked and the member is expecting you. You will:
- Perform routine servicing.
- Utilize advanced mobile equipment for diagnostics.
- Conduct in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
- Provide member advice and recommendations based on your inspections.
- Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned with our standards.
With a structured approach, you’ll deliver planned work that allows you to prepare effectively. From day one, you’ll have everything you need: a fully equipped van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set, and advanced diagnostics.
Why Our Technicians Love SMR
- Planned appointments instead of emergency responses.
- Consistent workflow without unpredictable demands.
- In-depth repairs rather than temporary roadside fixes.
- Time to do the job properly, with built-in support and parts ordering.
- Clear schedules using our mobile service platform.
What You’ll Need
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Benefits That Go the Extra Mile
- Earnings That Motivate: Enjoy a market-competitive base salary with opportunities for bonuses and premium-rate overtime.
- Opt-in Guaranteed Overtime: After your first month, choose to work extra rest days at £30 per hour, potentially earning an additional £3,000 to £5,000 per year.
- Tools to Drive Your Future: Start with a free breakdown service and access to a car salary sacrifice scheme after 12 months.
- Time Off That Matters: Enjoy 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays and support for work-life balance.
- Financial Security & Perks: Pension scheme with up to 6.5% matched contributions and life assurance cover.
- Wellbeing That Works for You: Access to a 24/7 confidential support service for you and your household members.
- Extras That Make a Difference: Join our exclusive discount portal and Colleague Share Scheme after passing probation.
Who Thrives Here?
You’re not just skilled with tools; you excel in customer interactions. Our Mobile Vehicle Technicians are the face of the organization, working directly with members and providing reassurance and high-quality service. You enjoy independence, problem-solving, and variety—each job is different, from servicing and diagnostics to in-depth repairs.
This Role is Ideal For You If You Want:
- Independence in a mobile role.
- The stability and support of a trusted national organization.
- Ongoing development, including future EV and diagnostic skills.
- A role where providing peace of mind to members is part of your daily work.
