The Client

Our client is a global financial institution offering corporate and investment banking services and is one of Japan’s largest financial groups. With a strong presence across the Americas, EMEA and Asia, our client is a key player in global capital markets.

They offer a robust and sophisticated trading infrastructure, supporting a wide range of asset classes including Fixed Income, equities and structured finance products.

The Programme

The programme is focused on replatforming the bank’s SFTR reporting solution onto S&P Global Cappitech, replacing the existing reporting infrastructure. The initiative supports compliance with the Securities Financing Transactions Regulation (SFTR) and aims to enhance reporting accuracy, strengthen the control framework, and improve reconciliation, pairing and matching rates. It will also reinforce data governance and lineage standards, optimise the front-to-back SFTR operating model, and facilitate the decommissioning of legacy reporting systems.

The role sits within Operations and acts as the key interface between Business, IT, and the vendor, ensuring regulatory requirements are translated into clear business and functional deliverables throughout the replatforming lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to SFTR reporting and controls

• Translate regulatory rules into clear operational and system requirements

• Perform impact analysis across trade capture, lifecycle events, collateral management, and reconciliation processes

• Work closely with Operations teams to assess current state vs. target operating model

• Define data sourcing, data mapping, and reporting logic requirements

• Support UAT preparation, test case design, and defect management

• Coordinate with IT, Compliance, Risk, and external vendors (e.g., trade repositories)

• Monitor regulatory updates and assess operational impact

• Support remediation initiatives and ongoing data quality improvements

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong knowledge of SFTR reporting requirements, lifecycle events, and regulatory control frameworks

• Solid understanding of securities financing products (repo, securities lending/borrowing, collateral, margin)

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst within regulatory reporting or change programmes in an investment bank

• Demonstrated experience producing high-quality BRDs, FRDs, process flows, and data mapping documentation

• Experience in system replatforming, vendor implementations, or regulatory reporting migrations (ideally involving **S&P Global Cappitech or similar platforms)

• Strong data analysis skills, including data lineage, transformation logic, reconciliation design, and gap analysis

• Ability to translate regulatory text into clear business and functional requirements

• Experience supporting UAT, defect management, and go-live implementation

• Strong stakeholder management skills across Operations, IT, Front Office, Compliance, and external vendors

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a structured and analytical approach

• Strong Excel skills; SQL knowledge advantageous
