A well-organised secondary school in Lambeth is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Admissions & Attendance Officer to join its busy administrative team. The Role
As Admissions & Attendance Officer , you will support the effective management of admissions and attendance systems, ensuring information is accurate, timely and handled professionally. Key responsibilities will include:
Supporting admissions processes, including applications, transfers and record management
Maintaining accurate student records and ensuring compliance with school procedures
Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality, identifying concerns and following up appropriately
Communicating with parents and carers regarding absence, punctuality and attendance expectations
Working closely with pastoral teams and senior leaders to support attendance improvement strategies
Producing attendance reports and supporting meetings with families where required
Liaising with external agencies and local authority teams as appropriate
Ensuring processes support safeguarding, including accurate tracking and prompt follow-up
This is a role that requires consistency, discretion and strong communication skills, alongside the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders in a busy school environment.
The Team
You will join a collaborative admin and pastoral support team that works closely to ensure students are safe, supported and attending regularly. The role involves regular liaison with tutors, heads of year, safeguarding staff and senior leaders to ensure attendance information is shared effectively and action is taken promptly where needed.

Understand the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and accurate record-keeping
Be proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities
Work well as part of a team while showing initiative and follow-through
Experience in a school setting is desirable, but training can be provided for candidates with strong transferable skills.
