A large, well-organised secondary school in the Bromley area is seeking a highly organised and detail-focused School Finance & Payroll Officer to join its experienced support team. This is a key operational role within the school, supporting senior leaders by ensuring financial processes are accurate, compliant and well managed.
The Role
Working closely with the School Business Manager, you will take responsibility for day-to-day finance and payroll operations. This includes processing invoices, managing purchase orders, reconciling accounts and supporting monthly reporting. You will also oversee payroll checks, staff contract changes and liaise with external payroll providers to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
The role plays an important part in supporting the smooth running of the school, ensuring budgets are monitored carefully and financial information is clear and reliable.

Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments

Have experience in a finance or payroll role, ideally within education or the public sector
Be confident using finance systems and spreadsheets

Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and external providers
