Application Support Analyst
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Team: The Application Support Analyst at S&P Global Commodity Insights (CI) is a vital role that provides in-person office-based support for CI applications and operations at the London, Ropemaker location and remotely across the EMEA region / time zone. This includes supporting the daily business-critical Platts Market On Close (MOC) process in London, which requires an on-site presence. This role is focused on supporting the business and ensuring the smooth running of our business applications, significantly reducing downtime and disruptions that could negatively impact productivity and internal & client satisfaction. Additionally, the analyst is tasked with Major Incident Management for all CI applications, Escalations for the EMEA region/time zone, and working on divisional and corporate deployment Projects. Our SPGI Commodity Insights team’s structure will allow you to be exposed to and provide opportunities to build your skills across functions within technology. Responsibilities and Impact: Support of our business applications Major Incident Management and proactive troubleshooting Supporting and escalating issues related to Senior Leadership Regional end-user software and hardware management Proactive learning and self-improvement are encouraged Flexible/Hybrid working model What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: Experience with: RDP, MobaXterm, SSH, WinSCP, Oracle SQL Developer Microsoft 365, especially Excel (troubleshooting Macros, Worksheets, and add-ins), Azure Entra ID management Protocols: TCP/IP, SSL, JMS, FTP, Telnet, DNS, DHCP, VNC, RDP, NAT, SMTP, API Exposure to Database programming languages, SQL and/or PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Power Automate, and AI Actions A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Engineering is required. Candidates with a minimum of 3-5 years of technology experience would be preferred. Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiency in English. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Well-developed analytical skills Proven problem-solving skills Ability to successfully communicate handover of issues between global regions.
