Accommodation: Live-in when on rota – private accommodation with access to staff kitchen

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced, confident, and well-organised Rota Nanny / Governess for a lovely European family based in Chelsea, London. This position operates on a 1 week on / 1 week off rota schedule, working alongside another Rota Nanny to ensure consistency of care.

The role involves the care and educational support of three school-aged children (G12, G10 & B5), all of whom attend the same school. This is a long-term opportunity suited to a professional, engaging, and proactive candidate with strong experience supporting older children within a private household setting.

The successful candidate will strike a balance between supporting educational development and maintaining a warm, fun, and nurturing environment, while working collaboratively within a well-established household team.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing full care, supervision, and guidance for the children
• Overseeing homework and supporting educational development
• Planning and coordinating age-appropriate activities, playdates, and schedules
• Managing busy school and extracurricular timetables
• Menu planning with a focus on nutrition
• Preparing school uniforms, bags, and daily essentials
• Occasional cooking when required (e.g. when Housekeeper/Chef is unavailable)
• Driving the children to and from school, activities, and appointments
• Maintaining organisation of children’s bedrooms and playroom
• Packing and unpacking for family travel
• Accompanying the family on international travel when required
• Ensuring smooth communication and handovers with the Rota Nanny
• Working collaboratively with a full household team

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Rota Nanny / Governess within private households
• Strong experience with school-aged children
• Confident driver with a valid UK driving licence (essential)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills and fluent English
• Professional, discreet, and team-oriented approach
• Positive, energetic, and nurturing personality
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fully staffed household
• Excellent, verifiable references
