Maternity Nurse

A lovely nightly role supporting first-time parents, focused on calm guidance, reassurance and hands-on teaching during the early weeks.

Job Summary:
The family are looking for a maternity nurse who can start as soon as they are home from hospital. Mum is hoping for a natural birth and may breastfeed initially, though she is open-minded and realistic about how feeding may evolve. She would love someone sensible, supportive and non-judgemental, who can guide her gently and help her find what works best for both her and baby at each stage. This is very much a teaching and support role — someone who enjoys guiding first-time parents, building confidence, and offering practical, reassuring advice around feeding, sleep and newborn care.

Ideally, the family would love someone who could work 6 weeks of nights in London, then travel with them to Spain for 2 weeks as a full-time, 24-hour maternity nurse, before returning to London for a further period. If this full arrangement is not possible, they would still love to reconnect with the same maternity nurse following their holiday, if available.

Candidate Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working exclusively with newborns
• Confident supporting feeding choices in a calm, non-judgemental way
• Patient, warm and reassuring
• Professional, discreet and supportive in the home
• Strong communicator who enjoys teaching and guiding first-time parents

Accommodation:
Bed in the nursery or spare room.
