The Opportunity:
This well-established and newly refurbished clinic in South London, is seeking a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. The practice is committed to providing exceptional patient and client care to the local community, and the successful candidate will play a key role in this mission.
As the Lead Vet, the individual will have the autonomy to influence the clinical direction of the practice. They will work alongside an experienced Head Nurse and support staff in a collaborative environment. The practice has recently expanded and is recruiting for a second vet to join the team. It boasts a welcoming reception, two spacious consult rooms, a theatre, and a prep room. The clinic is conveniently located within walking distance of Sandilands Tram and East Croydon Station.

Role Responsibilities:
The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering exceptional clinical care to both patients and clients, with specific duties including:
- Providing outstanding clinical care during consultations and procedures.
- Keeping clients informed with clear updates on their pets progress.
- Ensuring professional excellence and compliance with the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational requirements.
- Preparing accurate estimates for clients and ensuring payment, while minimizing debt.
- Collaborating closely with the Practice Manager to maximize commercial performance, with a focus on key performance measures.
- Mentoring, engaging, and developing the practice team, enhancing their skills and utilising them effectively.
- Inspiring the team by sharing evolving practice standards and processes.
- Overseeing clinical handovers and arranging transfers for patients needing out-of-hours or enhanced care.
Skills and Experience:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Proven clinical leadership skills.
- Experienced in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Strong understanding of how exceptional care contributes to an improved client experience.
- Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture.
- Ability to deliver strong commercial performance by effectively allocating clinical activities.
- Experienced in working as part of a team.
- Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to get the best results.
