The role:
Working within the Blakes Technical Design studio, this role is a great opportunity to work with an outstanding, talented design team, who create beautiful, unique kitchens and joinery for our clients.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Produce technical quote drawings, sign-off drawings from survey & construction drawings for bespoke kitchen & joinery projects. Take ownership for the delivery of accurate, detailed drawings for production
- Collaborate with lead designers to ensure that the design brief is interpreted correctly and all details are included in drawings
- Use the Asana project management system to update all members of the Blakes team on progress
- Use of Vectorworks design package for producing detailed drawings
- Communication with relevant internal teams to ensure that problems are identified and resolved quickly
- Work collaboratively with the wider team at Blakes to ensure that project deadlines are communicated and met

- A positive attitude and good humour are invaluable. Perfection is not always possible, but resolving issues with a pro-active, ‘can do’ approach is essential to this role
Skills & experience:
- You have a technical background and have preferably have a degree in product design/ furniture design or interior architecture/ architecture
- You have significant design experience within the kitchen/ furniture design or joinery industry
- Experience using technical drawing packages (Blakes London use Vectorworks and training can be provided for this software)
