Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, fostering high levels of literacy and critical analyse.
• Fully participate in the dedicated ECT induction programme, utilising mentor support and additional non-contact time to refine teaching strategies and assessment techniques.
• Track student progress and provide detailed, actionable feedback to drive academic achievement across all ability levels.
• Contribute actively to the wider literary life of the school, supporting debating, creative writing, and library initiatives.
• Uphold the school’s core values and professional conduct expectations at all times.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending QTS in English.
• A clear, demonstrable passion for English Language and Literature and a commitment to academic rigour.
• A resilient, positive, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for instruction, feedback, and report writing.
• Eagerness to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues within a diverse community.
