Role Summary and Impact

As a Business Director for the 1C Transformation, you will own a critical operational function within our landmark integration programme. Your mission is to develop and implement the detailed plans for transitioning our client-facing structures and commercial operations into the new, capability-led model, ensuring business continuity, client satisfaction, and commercial integrity throughout this period of immense change.

You will be accountable for the successful execution of all business-related workstreams in the 1C project plan. This involves managing a team of specialists (e.g., project managers, business analysts) to map client scopes to the new structure, redefine commercial reporting, and establish new ways of working. You will deliver measurable improvements in the efficiency and capability of our new client-centric operating model, acting as the bridge between the central transformation plan and the client leadership community.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Client Transition Function:

  • Develop and implement the detailed operational plan for transitioning all existing client teams into the new horizontal capability structure.
  • Lead the process of aligning individuals to clients and tasks based on scopes of work, ensuring full coverage and mitigating any risk to client delivery.
  • Work with client leadership to manage all stakeholder communications regarding the changes to team structures and operating models.

Implement New Commercial & Operating Models:

  • Partner with the Finance capability to implement the new FP&A restructure, ensuring a smooth transition to client-level forecasting and reporting.
  • Finalize and distribute documentation on the agreed "ways of working" and "governance models" for the new client-facing teams.
  • Ensure all commercial and contractual obligations are maintained and aligned with the new operational structure.

Manage a Specialist Team:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a dedicated team of specialists responsible for executing the business transition workstreams.
  • Set clear objectives for your team, manage their performance, and ensure they deliver high-quality outputs on schedule.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in the operational efficiency and capability of the new client-team structure post-transition.

Reporting and Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as the primary liaison between the central 1C Transformation Programme office and the broader client leadership community.
  • Report on progress, risks, and milestones related to the business and client-facing aspects of the transition to the Programme Director.

Skills and Experience

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in a senior client leadership or business operations role within a large-scale agency.
  • Proven experience leading significant change management or restructuring projects that directly impact client-facing teams and commercial operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams of specialists to deliver complex projects on tight deadlines.
  • Deep understanding of agency commercials, client P&Ls, resource management, and operational delivery models.
  • A talent for taking a high-level strategic plan and breaking it down into a detailed, executable implementation roadmap.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to guide a team through a period of ambiguity and change.
