ISP Safeguarding Manager Role Profile

Purpose of Role

The ISP Safeguarding Manager role reports to the Senior Operational Risk Manager s . The position is responsible for ensuring that effective management of Safeguarding policy and procedures is carried out within the schools in your specified area. The position will play a key supporting role to the Senior Operational Risk Managers and the ISP Schools in your area. The role demands an ability to build strong relationships with Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) in each school provide guidance support and direction to create a positive Safeguarding culture throughout your area. This role is to be based in E urope/UK .

ISP Group Safeguarding Manager Key Responsibilities

Group

  • Champion the Groups Safeguarding agenda.

  • Support the Senior Operational Risk Managers and Group Head of Operational Risk in the review on a periodic basic of the groups safeguarding policy.

  • With the support of the Senior Operational Risk Managers maintain the reporting structures that provide the senior management team with an overview of significant issues where these are and how they are being managed to reduce the risk of serious harm to anybody in our care.

  • Work with the Senior Operational Risk Managers Regions and Schools to identify non-compliances that allow line management to be accountable and take the necessary steps to achieve compliance

  • Champion the inclusion and safeguarding of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) ensuring that their specific requirements are identified and addressed appropriately across the group. Collaborate closely with schools to monitor and support tailored safeguarding measures for SEN learners and promote best practice in meeting their wellbeing and safety needs.

Schools

  • Support the Senior Operational Risk Managers to maintain an audit regime across your area of schools by carrying out s afeguarding audits in each school that supports a schools improvement plan and identifies significant risks both to the school and the group as a whole .

  • Support the Senior Operational Risk Managers in providing material that develop schools PHSE programs.

  • Provide advice and support to Designated Safeguarding Leads Principals /Heads of Sc hool and Regional Managing Directors.

  • To support schools by advising on the completion of their monthly safeguarding reporting.

  • Work collaboratively with schools to ensure that safeguarding audits and reporting specifically address the needs of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) offering expert guidance to ensure their unique requirements are identified monitored and appropriately supported within all safeguarding processes.

Training

  • Advise and identify schools training needs to support the Senior Operational Risk Managers in the development of the schools training strategy and;

  • Support where needed the Senior Operational Risk Managers in the delivery of specific in-house training that allows schools to improve their safeguarding knowledge and have the training applicable to their role.

  • Work with the Senior Operational Risk Managers and school Human Resources to ensure that all relevant staff have the appropriate safer recruitment training to ensure that the schools recruitment processes are in line with recognised best practice.

  • Develop and implement group-wide strategies to ensure the effective inclusion protection and support of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in SEN safeguarding practices.

Other

  • Perform any related task that is assigned.

  • To be fully effective the role requires interaction with colleagues partners and contractors at a variety of levels including SLT management contractors and consultants.

  • Adhere to the Business policies rules and procedures including Health and Safety Equal Opportunities all other legislative responsibilities governance and financial policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance to the organisations Code of Conduct in the delivery and provision of services to staff and the community.

Skills Qualifications and Experience

  • Previously worked at senior level as a Designated Safeguarding Leader in a school or equivalent in either a local authority/ government or a multi school business

  • Demonstrated experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) including designing or delivering tailored interventions and support programmes

  • International education experience is desirable

  • Fluen cy in English ; fluency in Spanish French or Italian is desirable

  • Excellent communicator

  • Disciplined and focused on targets and able to work in isolation

  • Be driven and able to meet realistic deadlines

  • Adaptable to different cultures and situations

  • Flexibility in travel happy to spend periods away from home
