Financial Controller - London Market MGA

I am partnered with my client, an ambitious and growing London Market MGA, on the appointment of a newly created Financial Controller. This is a hands–on role with responsibility for the day–to–day finance function and the opportunity to play an important role in the company's continued growth.

The successful candidate will be an experienced insurance finance professional who understands the end–to–end finance lifecycle of an MGA , from premium and bordereaux through to claims, settlements, management accounts and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Own the bordereaux accounting process, including premium and claims bordereaux, reconciliations and carrier/capacity provider settlements
• Oversee and process claims payments
• Manage premium accounting, commissions, fees and related settlements
• Prepare FCA regulatory returns and support regulatory capital requirements
• Oversee CASS 5 client money processes and reconciliations
• Maintain strong financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations and month–end processes
• Support statutory reporting, year–end audit, budgeting and forecasting
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline finance processes as the business grows

About You

• Qualified professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Experienced within an MGA, Lloyd's Coverholder, Broker or similar insurance environment
• Experienced in bordereaux and delegated authority accounting
• Comfortable managing claims payments and carrier settlements
• Experienced in preparing management accounts and FCA regulatory returns
• Familiar with the end–to–end insurance finance process, rather than solely general commercial accounting
• Comfortable working in a hands–on, growing and entrepreneurial environment
