BUK Principal Funding & Securitisation Desk AVP
As a BUK Principal Funding & Securitisation Desk AVP it will be your responsibility to execute the structuring and issuance of securitisation transactions, covered bonds, and significant risk transfer (SRT) deals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives for funding, capital optimisation, and risk management. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly dynamic and strategically important team within Barclays’ treasury.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Structuring & Execution
- Assist with the design and structuring of securitisation and covered bond transactions (cash and synthetic formats) of Barclays-originated or acquired assets
- Manage end-to-end issuance process, including documentation, investor engagement, settlement and booking
- Ensure transactions reach desired accounting and regulatory outcomes.
- Liaise with lending businesses, Investment Banking, Finance, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure robust and timely transaction approval and execution
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
- Maintain adherence to PRA regulations and internal SRT standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and functional approval processes
- Prepare and review approval documents for internal committees, and transaction notifications to the PRA
- Manage ongoing transaction lifecycle events and SRT compliance
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of securitisation structures (RMBS, ABS) preferred, though not essential
- Highly numerate, and high level of proficiency in MS Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience in managing complex transactions and/or projects and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
Purpose of the role
To design and structure complex financial products, such as derivatives, structured notes, and securitisations, to meet the specific needs of clients and market conditions.
Accountabilities
- Understanding of client investment objectives, risk tolerance, and market preferences, and analysis of market conditions, economic trends, and regulatory developments to identify potential structuring opportunities.
- Development and design of innovative financial products that meet the specific needs of clients and market dynamics, and structure transactions that effectively allocate risk and reward among various stakeholders.
- Estimation of the pricing and valuation of structured products using complex financial modelling and valuation techniques.
- Assessment of the credit, market, and operational risks associated with structured products, considering various market scenarios, and development of risk management strategies to mitigate potential risks and ensure product stability.
- Drafting and review of legal documentation for structured transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and market standards, and assistance in negotiating and finalising legal documentation with clients and counterparties.
- Management of the performance of structured product portfolios, including analysis of their performance against benchmarks, risk indicators, and investment objectives, and implementation and maintenance of effective risk management processes to monitor and control risks associated with structured product portfolios.
