Talent Pool | Modernisation Sales - M/F/X

WeMaintain
London

Who are we?

Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining on-the-ground expertise with technology and data.

Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and efficient when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and clear visibility over the equipment they look after.

Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, maintaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.

The way we work is guided by three core values:

  • Care: treating colleagues and customers with respect, consideration and responsibility

  • Grit: seeing things through with determination, perseverance and high standards

  • Uniqueness: embracing different perspectives, fresh ideas and new ways of doing things

Our ambition is to raise the standards of building maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.

Why are we building this Talent Pool?

This is not an advertisement for a currently open vacancy.

As WeMaintain continues to develop its Modernisation and New Installation activity across the UK, we're keen to connect with experienced sales professionals who might be interested in joining us in the future.

Our commercial opportunities come from two complementary areas: identifying modernisation needs within our existing nationwide customer portfolio and developing new business relationships.

This means we're interested in professionals who can recognise opportunities within established customer relationships, while also having the confidence and drive to open new doors.

Rather than waiting until a vacancy arises, we'd like to connect with people who understand the lift industry and enjoy turning technical challenges into valuable solutions for customers.

When a relevant position becomes available, we may get in touch with the key details, including responsibilities, location, working arrangements and salary.

The idea? Let's get to know each other today, so we can explore working together when the right opportunity comes along.

The Modernisation Sales role at WeMaintain

As part of our Modernisation Sales team, you'll help customers improve the safety, reliability and performance of their lift equipment through modernisation and new installation projects.

Working closely with our technical and operational teams, you'll identify commercial opportunities, understand customers' requirements and develop solutions suited to their buildings, budgets and long-term objectives.

Depending on the opportunity, your responsibilities could include:

  • Identifying modernisation and replacement opportunities within our existing UK maintenance customer portfolio

  • Developing new business relationships with property owners, facilities managers, managing agents, consultants and other decision-makers

  • Managing the sales process from initial discussions and site assessments through to technical proposals, negotiations and contract signature

  • Working with Engineering, Modernisation and Operations teams to develop technically sound and commercially competitive solutions

  • Preparing quotations, responding to tenders and presenting modernisation or new installation proposals to customers

  • Managing a pipeline of opportunities, maintaining accurate forecasts and contributing to commercial growth targets

The role combines technical understanding, relationship management and proactive business development.

The exact responsibilities, geographical coverage and customer portfolio will depend on the opportunity available.

What makes this role different at WeMaintain?

At WeMaintain, modernisation is about more than replacing ageing equipment. It's about helping customers make informed decisions that improve the long-term performance of their buildings.

Here's what makes our approach different:

  • An existing nationwide customer portfolio: opportunities to identify modernisation needs through established maintenance relationships, alongside developing entirely new business

  • A consultative sales approach: understand the technical challenges customers face and propose solutions that deliver genuine long-term value

  • Close collaboration with technical teams: work alongside experienced engineers, Project Managers and operational specialists throughout the sales process

  • Real commercial ownership: take responsibility for your opportunities and contribute directly to the development of our UK Modernisation business

This isn't purely a cold outreach role. While new business development remains an important part of the position, you'll also have the opportunity to build on existing customer relationships and identify projects where modernisation can make a real difference.

Who are we looking for?

We'd love to connect with commercially driven professionals who combine a strong understanding of lift modernisation with the ability to identify opportunities and build lasting customer relationships.

The essentials

  • Experience in technical B2B sales, ideally within lift modernisation, new installations or a closely related engineering sector

  • Good technical understanding of lift systems, modernisation projects and customer requirements

  • Proven ability to manage complex sales opportunities, from initial identification through to negotiation and contract signature

  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience preparing proposals, responding to tenders and managing sales pipelines

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

  • An established network within the UK lift, property management, construction or facilities management sectors

  • Experience selling both modernisation and new installation projects

  • Experience developing opportunities within an existing maintenance customer portfolio

  • Familiarity with technical surveys, project costing and commercial risk assessment

These would certainly be advantages, but they're not all essential. If you have strong technical sales experience and an interest in lift modernisation, we'd still encourage you to apply.

What do we offer?

The exact package will depend on the opportunity available, but here's what future Modernisation Sales positions at WeMaintain UK may offer:

  • A competitive base salary reflecting your experience, seniority and commercial responsibilities. For reference, a recent Senior Modernisation Sales Manager opportunity advertised £55,000 to £65,000 gross per annum

  • [Performance-related commission or bonus, where applicable]

  • [Company car, car allowance or other role-specific benefits, where applicable]

  • The opportunity to develop business through both our existing customer portfolio and new commercial relationships

  • A role with genuine autonomy, ownership and the ability to influence commercial growth

  • Close collaboration with experienced Engineering, Modernisation and Operations teams

  • Opportunities for professional development and internal mobility

  • A workplace pension scheme and annual leave in line with the applicable employment package

The exact salary, commission structure, location, working arrangements and benefits will be confirmed when a relevant opportunity becomes available.

What happens after you apply?

As this is a Talent Pool rather than an active recruitment process, things work a little differently.

1. We get to know your profile

We'll review your application, taking into account your commercial experience, technical background, preferred location and career expectations.

2. We may arrange an introductory chat

If your background aligns with the types of positions we may recruit for, we may invite you to a brief, 15-minute conversation with our Talent Acquisition team.

It's an opportunity to learn more about your experience, understand what you're looking for and introduce you to WeMaintain.

3. We get back in touch when a relevant opportunity arises

When a suitable Modernisation Sales position becomes available, we may contact you with the key details, including responsibilities, location, working arrangements and salary.

You can then let us know whether you'd be interested in exploring the opportunity further.

If the role sounds like a good fit, we'll take things forward together through the recruitment process with the relevant hiring team.

Please note: Joining our Talent Pool does not guarantee an interview or a job offer. It simply gives us the opportunity to consider your profile for future vacancies.

✏️ Interested in joining WeMaintain, now or in the future?

We know that great careers don't always follow a straight line, and that finding the right person goes beyond ticking every box on a job description.

At WeMaintain, we value different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We're committed to creating an inclusive working environment where everyone feels respected, valued and encouraged to contribute.

So, if you're passionate about technical sales, developing customer relationships and helping shape the future of lift modernisation, we'd love you to join our Talent Pool!

Simply click "Apply" and answer a few short questions to help us better understand your experience, preferred location and what you're looking for in your next opportunity.
