Role Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Account Director to join their commercial team in a services-led consultancy sales role. This position focuses on managing and growing strategic customer relationships while generating new business opportunities.
You will operate in a consultative sales capacity, engaging senior stakeholders across finance functions (including CFO and FP&A leadership) and positioning complex planning and analytics solutions and associated consulting services. The role combines account management and new business development, with a strong emphasis on expanding existing customers as well as identifying and qualifying net new opportunities.
The successful candidate will be commercially astute, comfortable selling high-value professional services, and able to operate effectively within a partner ecosystem involving large enterprise technology vendors.
This role suits a proactive and hands on salesperson who enjoys ownership of the full deal lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through proposal creation to commercial negotiation and long-term account growth.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow strategic customer accounts, building long-term trusted relationships
Drive new business within existing accounts and generate net new opportunities
Sell consultancy and professional services using a consultative, value-led approach
Engage senior finance stakeholders (CFO, FD, FP&A) and lead complex discovery
Own the full sales lifecycle from qualification through to negotiation and close
Develop and execute structured account plans and land-and-expand strategies
Collaborate with delivery teams and operate effectively within partner ecosystems
Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting and commercial governance
Essential Skills and Experience
Proven B2B sales experience at a senior level
Strong background in consultancy / professional services sales
Proven experience selling to senior finance stakeholders
Track record of both new business generation and account growth
Strong commercial judgement and opportunity qualification capability
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes
Comfortable operating autonomously in a boutique / high-accountability environment
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills with a resilient, hands-on approach
Desirable Skills and Experience
Exposure to Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), financial planning or analytics solutions
Experience working alongside large enterprise software vendors or partner ecosystems
Background within a consultancy or boutique services organisation
Network of finance leadership contacts
Familiarity with planning, analytics, data or performance management solutions
