The role

The firm is seeking to hire a Construction Partner to join their City of London office.

• You will come into the firms construction department which currently consists of a team of 2, you will work closely with the real estate department which is sizeable and is continuing to grow.
• This is an exciting role which will allow you the autonomy to grow and shape the firms construction department, both under and around you - you will have the full backing and support of the wider partnership, as well as access to their talented marketing and business development departments.
• You will deal with a wide spectrum of companies across different sectors of varying sizes, from FTSE 500, National companies, to SMEs, the variety will make for an interesting caseload.
• You will deal with a caseload that consists of; contract drafting and negotiation on construction contracts, as well as sub contracts and consultancy agreements, advise on standard forms of contracts such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke contracts tailored to specific projects, you will also advise on risk allocation, delays, variations, liquidated damages, and force majeure. There will also be work involving risk management and compliance.

Requirements

• You will be a Construction Solicitor with at least 7 years PQE (there is no upper limit to the amount of experience)
• The firm are busy both in contentious and non contentious and so are open to candidates from either side
• You should have experience of developing and introducing new business.
• You will have a track record in developing new business
• You should ideally have experience of dealing with international clients, although this isn't essential.
• Salary is negotiable depending on your background and level of experience.
