Internal Communications Lead

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As Internal Communications Lead at BBC Studios, you'll work across the business to ensure communications are aligned to our mother story and strategic priorities. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you'll lead high-impact communications that inform, engage and connect employees through key announcements, leadership communications, campaigns and events.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

Lead and deliver internal communications campaigns and projects that align with BBC Studios' strategy and engage the right audiences. Partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to shape, advise on and execute high-impact communications. Create compelling content and messaging across multiple channels, ensuring clarity, consistency and strategic alignment. Plan and deliver major announcements, town halls, leadership events and employee engagement initiatives. Drive continuous improvement through audience insight, measurement and optimisation of communications channels and approaches. Support business continuity, change and crisis communications, helping protect and strengthen organisational reputation. Build strong relationships across BBC Studios and the BBC, while coaching colleagues and deputising for the Head of Internal Communications when required.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

Proven experience leading high-profile internal communications campaigns and projects within a complex organisation. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, advise and build credibility with senior leaders. Experience supporting large-scale change, transformation or organisational programmes through effective communications. Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging messages for a variety of audiences. Demonstrated experience planning and delivering events, leadership communications and employee engagement initiatives. Strong understanding of digital communications channels, social media and communications measurement, with a focus on continuous improvement. A strategic, proactive and self-sufficient communicator with experience operating in international and commercial environments, managing multiple priorities, coaching others and building strong relationships across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
