As a key member of the clinical triage team, the Assistant Psychologist ensures the delivery of an exceptional, white-glove experience to clients from their very first interaction with the clinic. At the heart of this role is the ability to guide clients through their journey from initial enquiry to scheduled appointment with clarity, care, and clinical insight.
As the first point of contact for new enquiries, you will conduct 15-minute telephone triages, ensuring clients feel heard and supported as they are matched with the most appropriate clinician and service. You will be confident discussing our clinicians, services, and fees in a clear and respectful manner that helps clients make informed decisions, while also completing risk assessments and a general mental health screen where needed.
Beyond triage, you will support the wider clinical and administrative team, assisting with assessments, group work, 1:1 skills sessions, audit projects, and the development of new services, as part of a driven, multidisciplinary team including psychologists, psychiatrists, and business colleagues.
We receive a high volume of applications. If you do not hear from us within two weeks, please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Triage & Journey Support
Key skills for success in this area include:
Relationship-building: Creating immediate rapport and trust with clients, even within a brief 15-minute triage call.
Clinical judgement: Exploring treatment needs and goals, completing risk assessments, and undertaking a general mental health screen to identify the most appropriate treatment options.
Clear communication: Confidently and clearly communicating the value of the clinic's services, clinician specialisms, and fees, helping clients make informed decisions.
Outcome-oriented coordination: Ensuring each enquiry results in a clear next step, whether that's a booked assessment, a scheduled follow-up, or an appropriate referral.
Service knowledge: Quickly developing a strong understanding of clinicians' specialisms and styles to support accurate matching between clients and practitioners.
This element of the role is central to the client's first impression of the clinic, and we are seeking someone who takes pride in helping people take that first, important step toward psychological support.
Clinical & Administrative Support
Co-facilitate assessments and group therapy modules alongside clinicians, and deliver individual skills sessions while supporting client progress during their therapeutic journey.
Support the design and management of spreadsheets and databases, collate client feedback, and ensure all data is accurately recorded in HubSpot.
Training, Supervision & Service Development
Receive fortnightly clinical supervision and take part in Clinical Triage Team meetings, CPD sessions, and clinic meetings as opportunities arise.
Participate in service development and clinical governance initiatives, and contribute to audit projects, including data collection, analysis, and literature searches to support clinical pathways.
General
Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping and report writing in line with British Psychological Society guidelines and clinic policies.
Undertake additional administrative duties and CPD activities as required to support the smooth running of the clinic.
What We’re Looking For
✅Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
✅Flexibility to manage shift work across clinic locations and adapt to the evolving needs of the clinic.
✅Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and liaise calmly and compassionately with clients, including those in crisis.
✅Self-motivated and dynamic, with the confidence to implement innovative practices and inspire those around you.
✅Proficiency in computer systems and spreadsheets, with openness to new ways of working.
Essential Requirements:
Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
Ability to reliably commute to all clinic locations.
Successful applicants will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS check prior to starting the role.
️ Our Interview Process
We aim to respond to applications within two weeks.
