About the opportunity

Our client, a leading international financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Middleware Platforms Support Lead at Vice President level to join its Production Management & Service Delivery function.

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role supporting the Middleware platforms underpinning business-critical services within a complex, global banking environment.

The successful candidate will act as a senior escalation point for complex production issues while driving improvements in platform resilience, automation, monitoring and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide hands-on administration and production support across IBM MQ, AutoSys, Splunk and enterprise integration platforms.
• Lead the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of complex technical incidents.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for critical production issues.
• Drive platform engineering, automation and operational resilience improvements.
• Enhance monitoring, observability and alerting to improve service availability and reduce operational risk.
• Work collaboratively with infrastructure, application support, engineering and service management teams.
• Support business-critical services within a 24/7 production environment, including on-call, major incident and out-of-hours activities.
• Improve technical standards, documentation and platform supportability.

Essential skills and experience

• Strong hands-on IBM MQ administration and production support experience.
• Experience with AutoSys or an equivalent enterprise workload automation platform.
• Strong practical experience with Splunk, including log analysis, monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience supporting business-critical applications and services in an enterprise environment.
• Demonstrable expertise in incident management, root cause analysis and technical remediation.
• Experience improving platform resilience, automation and operational efficiency.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical issues and provide senior-level technical leadership.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and out-of-hours production support.
