Take Pride in the Upkeep of a Redbridge School Site

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Salary: £31,500 per annum
A school in Redbridge is seeking a reliable Caretaker to help keep its buildings, grounds and facilities safe, secure and in good working order. This permanent position offers a varied workload, combining practical maintenance with site checks and support for the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and securing the premises in line with agreed procedures.
Carrying out regular inspections of the buildings and grounds.
Completing minor repairs and general handyperson duties.
Checking for damage, hazards, leaks and other maintenance issues.
Keeping entrances, pathways and external areas tidy.
Setting up rooms and facilities for school activities.
Supporting contractors and reporting work requiring specialist trades.
Following health and safety, fire safety and safeguarding procedures.
About You
You should be practical, dependable and confident handling everyday maintenance tasks. Previous experience in caretaking, site maintenance or facilities work is essential, with school experience desirable.
You'll need to work well independently, manage competing priorities and take a proactive approach to spotting and reporting issues before they become bigger problems. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
