Our Credit Risk team turn data into smarter, sharper credit decisions. Grow your potential as a Data Analyst Apprentice and build hands-on experience with real data, real systems and real impact, earning a starting salary of £27,000 whilst doing it.

Make things happen

As an apprentice, you’ll start by shadowing experienced analysts, learning our systems, and building a solid understanding of the credit risk lifecycle. As you progress through your apprenticeship, we’ll ensure you’re able to investigate credit strategy performance, spot opportunities for improvement, and contribute to real decisioning conversations at at Virgin Media O2. Day-to-day, you could be:

  • Identifying issues, gaps and opportunities in our credit risk strategy
  • Supporting regular reporting and documenting findings clearly
  • Collaborating with teams like Fraud, Data, or Operations to gather insights

We’re a flexible-first organisation because we believe people do their best work with choice and clarity. To support meaningful collaboration, we ask everyone to connect in person at least eight days a month. That could mean time in the office, volunteering days, or away days - anywhere collaboration happens.

This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to become skilled in your role, and combines on the job learning and academic study, where you’ll spend approximately 20% of your working hours completing learning with one of our training providers. The programme is fully funded by us, and we’ll support you from day one, ensuring you complete your apprenticeship with a nationally recognised qualification.

The must haves

To be eligible, you’ll need at least five GCSEs at Level 4–9 (or equivalent).

The other stuff we are looking for

We’re looking for motivated candidates who are passionate about learning how to work with large data sets to solve real business problems. Experience in coding is useful but not essential. You’ll learn the technical skills here - all we’re looking for is curiosity and a willingness to develop. We’re keen to see qualities such as:

  • An understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • A methodical mindset and good attention to detail
  • The ability to interpret complex information and communicate it clearly

Not only will you be supported towards your Level 4 Data Analyst Apprenticeship, but you’ll grow your technical and analytical skills while working with real data across our credit decisioning systems. Join us on a starting salary of £27,000, raising to £30,000 after 12-months on programme, with a final landing salary of £35,000 upon successful completion. Plus, you can enjoy our amazing benefits, including:

  • A minimum of 23 days holiday, plus your birthday off!
  • Flexible benefits package including 10% matched pension contribution, holiday buying and selling, and discounts on shopping, travel and more
  • Private Bupa healthcare

…and plenty more to support you inside and outside of work!

Next steps

If we feel like a place where you can belong, we'd love to learn more about you as a person and your experience to date. Once you've submitted an application the next steps of the process, if successful, are likely to include an online test, a telephone interview, a coaching call and an assessment centre.

When you apply, you'll be asked about any adjustments you might need to support the recruitment process. Let us know, and we'll be sure to discuss it with you. Please note: Applications will be reviewed, and interviews conducted throughout the duration of this advert, therefore we may bring the closing date forward.

We encourage all interested applicants to apply as soon as possible. If you’re offered a job with us, it will be conditional, based on the passing of background checks. All roles require a criminal record check and some roles need a financial probity check. Your recruiter can provide you with more information if needed.

Thanks for your patience and for showing an interest in joining the Virgin Media O2 family.
