Test Assurance Lead
Purpose:
Lead all aspects of test management and quality assurance for projects valued £1M–£3M, ensuring robust testing to support solution sign-off decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage formal test sign-off processes.
- Collaborate with architects and technical leads on test planning and execution.
- Understand high-level E2E business and technical requirements.
- Produce key test documentation (e.g., Master Test Plan, Risk Matrix, Progress Reports, Exit Report).
- Oversee execution of SIT, UAT, Regression, and Functional Acceptance testing.
- Ensure test coverage and quality across internal teams and vendors.
- Act as the single point of contact for project quality.
- Coordinate test resources and infrastructure.
- Align testing with internal methodologies and governance.
- Identify and implement test automation opportunities.
Team & Delivery:
- Operates within project/programme structures.
- Manages 2–3 testers and flex resources as needed.
- Meets utilisation targets.
- Applies governance and policy to delivery.
- Works with demanding internal clients and complex external suppliers.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and industry standards.
- Proficient in Agile and Waterfall project management (planning, estimating, risk management, reporting, resource coordination).
- Commercial awareness and mentoring capability.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Scrum, Kanban, and TDD.
- Proven experience transitioning from Waterfall to Agile.
- 3+ years in test management on large integration projects; 7+ years in testing overall.
Qualifications:
- Technology-related higher education.
- Certifications such as ISEB and Certified Agile Tester (CAT) preferred.
