Teaching Assistant
Position: KS2 Teaching Assistant
Start date: ASAP
Pay: Dependent on experience We are working with a welcoming primary school in Tooting that is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join its KS2 team as soon as possible. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, high-quality teaching and helping every child feel valued. Its approach centres on achieving excellence together, with respect, kindness and perseverance playing an important part in everyday school life. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils across KS2, working closely with the class teacher to help children make progress, develop independence and engage positively with their learning. The school is looking for someone who understands that every child learns differently and can help create a classroom where pupils feel safe, supported and able to succeed. Main Duties and Responsibilities Teaching Assistant Support for Pupils: Support pupils' academic progress through classroom support and small-group activities.
Encourage confidence, independence and perseverance when tackling challenges.
Build positive relationships and promote respect, kindness and inclusion.
Support pupils' social and emotional development and encourage positive behaviour.
Help ensure every child feels listened to, valued and included.Teaching Assistant Support for Teachers: Assist with lesson activities and the preparation of classroom resources.
Work alongside the class teacher to support learning and identify where pupils may need additional help.
Help maintain a positive, organised and purposeful learning environment.
Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, behaviour, equality and pupil well being. Qualifications and Experience Essential: Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
A patient, proactive approach and good communication skills.
The ability to work effectively with teachers and other support staff.
A clear understanding of safeguarding and the importance of children's welfare.Desirable: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
