Facade Designer

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Façade Designer to join a growing external envelope specialist based in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and technical delivery of façade packages across a range of commercial and residential developments.

You will be responsible for producing detailed façade designs and coordinating with internal and external project teams to ensure systems are delivered in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed façade design drawings and technical details.
• Develop construction, fabrication, and installation drawings.
• Work on façade systems including rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, glazing systems, and SFS framing.
• Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and project teams.
• Ensure façade systems meet technical, structural, and fire performance requirements.
• Review architectural drawings and translate them into buildable façade solutions.
• Support project teams with technical queries during installation.
• Participate in design meetings and coordination reviews.

Requirements:

• Experience working as a Façade Designer, Cladding Designer, or Envelope Designer.
• Strong knowledge of façade systems such as:
• Curtain walling
• Rainscreen cladding
• Aluminium façade systems
• Steel framing systems (SFS)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit experience desirable).
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Good understanding of UK building regulations and façade performance requirements.

Desirable:

• Experience working with façade contractors or specialist envelope companies.
• Knowledge of façade testing and performance standards.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial or residential developments.
