Head of Risk RLAM Ireland ManCo

Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) is establishing and growing its Irish Management Company (ManCo), a key strategic platform that supports our European ambitions. We are now seeking an experienced Head of Risk to join the leadership team in Ireland.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a highly influential role as Chief Risk Officer and Designated Person for Fund Risk Management, providing independent oversight of risk across the Irish ManCo while working closely with senior stakeholders across RLAM and engaging directly with the Central Bank of Ireland.
About the Role
As Head of Risk, you will lead the development and oversight of the ManCo's risk framework, ensuring effective governance, regulatory compliance and risk management across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as Designated Person for Fund Risk Management and Operational Risk
- Leading engagement with the Central Bank of Ireland and supporting regulatory reviews and inspections
- Overseeing market, credit, liquidity, counterparty and operational risk across the fund range
- Leading stress testing, scenario analysis and risk monitoring activities
- Providing independent challenge and oversight across investment, product and operational activities
- Owning the ManCo risk framework, risk appetite, risk policies, risk registers and key risk indicators
- Preparing and presenting risk reporting to Boards, committees and senior leadership
- Managing incident escalation and ensuring robust risk governance and control effectiveness
- Supporting new product launches, fund structures and strategic business initiatives from a risk perspective
- Building strong relationships across RLAM and with key external stakeholders
About You
We're looking for a risk leader with significant experience within asset management and a strong understanding of the Irish regulatory environment.
You'll bring:
- Extensive experience in risk management within asset management, investment management or financial services
- Strong knowledge of UCITS, AIFMD, CP86 and wider Irish regulatory requirements
- Experience engaging directly with regulators and supporting regulatory inspections and remediation programmes
- Deep technical understanding of fund risk, including market, credit, liquidity and operational risk
- Experience overseeing stress testing, VaR, leverage and risk reporting frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels
- Strong judgement, integrity and a robust regulatory mindset
Experience operating as a Designated Person, PCF holder, Chief Risk Officer or equivalent senior risk leadership role would be highly advantageous.
