We are excited to be recruiting for an Event Manager to work with us at Southbank Centre .
Location: SE1 8XX Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience Work Pattern: Predominantly Monday - Friday but flexibility over weekends/evenings may be required for events Key Responsibilities:- Understanding the requirements of clients and coming up with innovative ideas for events
- Establishing and agreeing upon important parameters, such as budgets and timeframes
- Logistics, problem solving
- Excellent communication skills
- Account management
- Researching suppliers and contractors and negotiating favourable deals
- Providing clients or management with regular updates
- Coordinating activities on the day of an event and implement back-up plans when necessary
- Performing post-event evaluation and documenting findings
- Managing post-event activities, such as the cleaning of venues and the payment of suppliers
- A creative mind and a flair for entertainment to create exciting events
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- The ability to perform well under pressure and remain calm in crisis situations
- The ability to multitask, as the job often requires dealing with multiple parties and tasks concurrently
- Attention to detail to ensure that every aspect of an event is perfect
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on their feet when unexpected events occur
- Strong negotiation skills to effectively deal with suppliers and contractors
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as the job constantly involves working with people
