Electricians or Educators: Teach Electrical Installation Remotely

Electrical Installation Teacher / Lecturer / Trainer / Tutor – Remote (Full-Time, Term-Time Only) Open to experienced educators and qualified electricians with no teaching background. Are you an experienced educator or qualified electrician with a Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Installation or Maintenance and 18th Edition (BS 7671)? Whether you’re an experienced Electrical Installation Teacher, Lecturer, Trainer, Tutor or Instructor, or you’ve worked in the electrical trade and want to step into education — this role is for you. A national training provider is offering a fully remote oppertunity, delivering Electrical Installation courses to students aged 16–19 in the Further Education sector. No prior teaching experience is required — full on-the-job training will be provided. How the you will be required to work remote: Theory-Based Teaching This training provider delivers the theory components of Electrical Installation — including electrical science, regulations, health and safety, and wiring diagrams — remotely using platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Moodle. Apprenticeship Support They also support apprentices who are based on-site with their employers by delivering remote sessions. Tutors provide guidance, regular check-ins, and online support to help learners progress through their qualifications. Blended Learning Approach While the role is primarily remote, the training provider follows a blended model. You may be required to attend in-person sessions once every fortnight for practical assessments or hands-on demonstrations. All travel expenses for these visits will be fully covered. What’s on offer: * £26–£50 per hour * 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week * Term-time only (195 working days per year) * One-year rolling contract, with potential to become permanent * Travel covered for occasional site visits (once every two weeks) Who can apply: We welcome applications from: * Qualified Electrical Installation teachers, lecturers, trainers, tutors or instructors * Practising electrician looking to move into teaching (training provided) What You’ll Need to Apply (If You’re from the Trade) * Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Installation or Maintenance (or equivalent) * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) * 3+ years’ hands-on experience as a qualified electrician * Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly Essential Criteria to Apply: 1. Must be available to start in September, with a maximum notice period of one week. Offers will be made in the final week of August, so anyone with a longer notice period will not have sufficient time to give notice and begin on time. 2. Must be currently living in the UK 3.
