As an Assistant Category Merchandiser within the Commercial function, you’ll be working with Gaming which is one of our most exciting categories. Our Merchandising teams help our categories hit targets by building relationships with suppliers and monitoring performance. You’ll be at the heart of our success, helping our Category Merchandiser to deliver category performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Build close relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and our supply chain to ensure continuity of supply
- Step up and take responsibility for achieving all key performance indicators (sales, stock, margin and markdown)
- Review sales forecasts based on historical data, seasonal trends and market trends
- Monitor weekly performance and make recommendations to ensure that we implement in-season plans and deliver target availability across the store estate
You will need:
- Knowledge of merchandise planning systems such as SAP, Compass Planning or similar
- Experience of business objects
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, capable of presenting with Team forums as well as working cross functionally to achieve the desired results
- Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs
