Gen AI Workflow Designer (Brahma)

DNEG
London
Description

Position at DNEG

Brahma is a pioneering enterprise AI company developing Astras, AI-native products built to help enterprises and creators innovate at scale. Brahma enables teams to break creative bottlenecks, accelerate storytelling, and deliver standout content with speed and efficiency. Part of the DNEG Group, Brahma brings together Hollywood's leading creative technologists, innovators in AI and Generative AI, and thought leaders in the ethical creation of AI content.

Gen AI workflow designers are experts in creating efficient, functional workflows for deploying Audiovisual Generative AI models. With ComfyUI as their primary platform, they stay on the cutting edge of the open and closed source Gen AI landscape - identifying and integrating the latest tools and technologies. They are responsible for developing new workflows, finessing them and keeping existing ones aligned with the state of the art.

This team works closely with the broader Gen AI and research groups to create and evaluate workflow templates, finessing them to ensure they maximise the performance of new tools and models. A key part of the role is also experimenting with novel combinations of existing models and techniques within broader workflows. They also support creative and product teams by building templatable workflows tailored to their specific needs, then collaborating with DevOps teams to transition those into scalable, cross-platform solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain efficient, functional workflows for deploying audiovisual GenAI models, primarily using ComfyUI.
  • Identify, integrate, and update workflows with state-of-the-art tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with GenAI and research teams to develop, evaluate, and refine workflow templates that maximize model performance.
  • Experiment with novel model and tool combinations to enhance existing workflows and create new ones.
  • Support creative and product teams by building templatable, tailored workflows and working with multi disciplinary teams to transition them into scalable solutions.
  • Work alongside Gen AI pipeline team to maintain and develop our custom ComfyUI environment.
  • Present and evaluate alternative model deployment platforms while contributing to internal platform development.
  • Onboard and train artists from other disciplines in ComfyUI workflow usage.
Must Haves

  • Expertise in ComfyUI. As this will initially be the main workflow development platform, the candidate must be very comfortable and experienced creating custom workflows, nodes and pipelines. Developing both in Python and JS.
  • Experience maintaining and deploying custom ComfyUI environments.
  • Proven experience at effectively implementing existing tools and techniques into wider custom pipelines.
  • Quick to understand, evaluate and present other potential model deployment platforms to the team, while assisting in developing in house alternatives.
  • Comfortable setting up testing environments for model inference and training. Must be confident with Conda, git, dependency management, and have enough Python/PyTorch knowledge to adapt code to specific requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with developers.
  • Professional experience testing photoreal generative models, ideally with a focus on video applications.
  • Deep engagement and awareness of the Gen AI communities and offerings, across both open and closed-source spaces.
  • Comfortable onboarding and training artists from other disciplines in ComfyUI usage to expand the wider Gen AI artist group.
Nice to Have

  • Prior role in a pipeline or RnD-focused environment.
  • Professional background either as a creative or a developer in a visual field such as VFX, visual arts, or a visually-driven tech company.
