Compliance Counsel
Job Details
This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance lawyer to join a city law firm's compliance team in London. The role will involve working closely with the Head of Compliance and serving as an adviser on SRA standards, as well as commercial and contractual arrangements engaged in by the firm. The position will be supported by other senior lawyers within the team, making it an excellent chance to gain exposure and advance your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing advice on cross-border professional mobility and related compliance issues.
- Creating and revising internal protocols on matters such as corruption prevention, hospitality practices, and handling of confidential information.
- Reviewing case files to ensure adherence to applicable legal and regulatory standards.
- Advising on intricate conflict of interest scenarios and resolution strategies.
- Preparing and maintaining standard documentation, including client care letters and business terms.
- Reviewing and negotiating terms in client-imposed contractual agreements, consultancy terms, and external legal counsel policies.
- Providing compliance support during the establishment of new office locations.
- Ensuring full observance of professional conduct rules and regulatory requirements, particularly those set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
- Supporting communications and interactions with legal regulatory bodies.
Key Experience:
- England and Wales qualified solicitor with at least 2 years PQE within a conflicts position at a mid to large law firm.
- Experience drafting contracts and involvement in commercial arrangements.
