Senior Project Manager – HR ERP (Technology)
Location: Farringdon, London (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Royal Mail is delivering a once‑in‑a‑generation Future ERP transformation, replacing legacy systems with a modern, integrated HR and Payroll platform. As part of this major programme, we are implementing SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) and Employee Central Payroll (ECP) to modernise Core HR, Payroll, Onboarding, Compensation and document management across the organisation.
We are now seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of key HR ERP projects within this transformation — ensuring secure, compliant and high‑quality outcomes that improve employee experience, strengthen payroll accuracy and simplify HR processes.
The Role
You will take ownership of one or more HR ERP projects, translating programme strategy into clear delivery plans and managing scope, schedule, cost, quality and risk. Working closely with HR, Payroll, Technology, Data, Architecture and supplier teams, you will ensure end‑to‑end delivery across SuccessFactors, integrations, data, testing and business change.
What You’ll Do
- Lead project initiation, scope definition, mobilisation and governance setup.
- Build and maintain detailed delivery plans, RAID logs, financial forecasts and reporting.
- Coordinate internal teams and System Integrators to deliver secure, compliant, end‑to‑end solutions.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies and change control with discipline and transparency.
- Ensure alignment with data privacy, cyber security, architecture and delivery standards.
- Support business change, training, cutover and hypercare to ensure successful adoption.
- Provide clear, concise reporting to the Programme Manager and governance forums.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and mentor junior delivery colleagues.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience delivering technology projects in complex organisations — ideally ERP, HR, Payroll or SAP/SuccessFactors.
- Excellent planning, RAID management and financial control capability.
- Ability to integrate multiple technical and business workstreams into a cohesive plan.
- Confident stakeholder engagement across HR, Technology and supplier teams.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Resilience, pragmatism and strong problem‑solving skills in fast‑moving environments.
- A collaborative, delivery‑focused mindset with high attention to detail.
Why Join Us?
You’ll play a key role in a major national transformation, helping modernise HR and Payroll for one of the UK’s most recognised organisations. You’ll work with modern platforms, experienced teams and a programme that will shape Royal Mail’s future for years to come.
