Product Engineer (Golang)

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a pioneering scale-up in the UK credit data market, is seeking a early-career Product Engineer to build and maintain the Go services that power their real-time B2B APIs on AWS.

In this role, the successful candidate will join a collaborative and highly productive engineering team, reporting directly to the CTO. Working alongside and receiving mentorship from senior engineers, the candidate will take full ownership of real features end-to-end from day one. The role emphasizes a strong product mindset—focusing on user impact, problem-solving, and robust production design—alongside high standards for code quality and the responsible, effective use of modern AI tooling to complement engineering judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, test, and ship features in Go API services with support and code review from senior engineers.
• Take full ownership of delivered features, from initial design discussions through to production behavior and customer outcomes.
• Work with AWS infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD pipelines, operating the services being built.
• Contribute actively to code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making.
• Utilize AI development tools deliberately and effectively to enhance code quality and delivery speed while maintaining complete accountability for engineering output.

Requirements

• Experience: Approximately 1 to 3 years of commercial software engineering experience (or equivalent evidence of building and shipping production-level software).
• Core Technical Skills: Go at the center of the skill set—either commercial experience or substantial project experience with a deep understanding of language principles.
• Product Instinct: A user-first mindset that focuses on API/interface usability and technical problem solving rather than just ticket execution.
• AI Tooling: Fluent and deliberate integration of AI assistance (e.g., Claude) into development workflows while maintaining clear oversight and understanding of all code.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS, containers, and CI/CD concepts (e.g., Fargate, Lambda, Aurora Postgres, DynamoDB, GitHub Actions), along with an eagerness to learn the stack.
• Professional Attributes: Strong bias to action, passion for problem-solving, open to feedback, and continuous learning.
• Industry Interest: Interest in fintech, credit data, or regulated industries (direct domain experience is a plus).
