Fire Safety Manager

Summary:

The role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization meets both statutory and non-statutory fire safety obligations as per the latest legislation and building regulations. The position involves strategic and operational management of fire safety across a high-volume residential portfolio, particularly in social housing. The successful candidate will foster strong relationships with consultants, service providers, internal staff, external agencies like the London Fire Brigade, and residents. They will also provide expert advice and make informed decisions regarding fire risk assessments, ensuring quality and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with fire safety legislation, including the Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Safety Act 2022, and Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
  
• Oversee fire safety management across social housing or similar residential portfolios.
  
• Utilize RiskFlag software to develop and manage digital safety cases.
  
• Procure, commission, and review fire risk assessments (FRA Type 1).
  
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with consultants, service providers, in-house staff, external agencies, and residents.
  
• Provide professional advisory services across departments and the Capital team.
  
• Manage fire safety management, repairs, and improvements strategically and operationally.
  
• Directly manage a team of three Grade PO3/4 staff members.
  

Requirements

• Solid understanding of fire safety legislation, including RRO 2005.
  
• Proven experience in overseeing fire safety in social housing or similar high-volume residential settings.
  
• Proficiency in using RiskFlag software for digital safety case management.
  
• Experience in procuring, commissioning, and reviewing fire risk assessments (FRA Type 1).
  
• Ability to make informed decisions and recommendations regarding the quality of incoming FRAs.
  
• Strong relationship-building skills with various stakeholders, including the London Fire Brigade.
