Located in one of London’s most rapidly transforming boroughs, this school provides a rich, real-world context for studying urban sociology, migration, and social mobility. Empirical Rigour: Teaching students how to evaluate complex sociological research methods, from quantitative longitudinal studies to qualitative ethnographic observations.
Curriculum Innovation: Integrating contemporary issues—such as the sociology of digital media, global health inequalities, and the changing nature of the family—into the schemes of work.
Exam Mastery: Mentoring examination cohorts to master the art of the evaluative essay, focusing on the precise application of AO1, AO2, and AO3 criteria to secure top-tier results.
Social Advocacy: Leading school-wide initiatives on diversity, social justice, and civic engagement, encouraging students to apply their sociological knowledge to community action.
Why This School?

Collaborative Social Sciences Faculty: Join a dedicated team of specialists in Psychology, Politics, and Criminology, fostering a culture of rigorous academic debate and shared pedagogical excellence.
Modern Learning Environment: Benefit from dedicated Social Science suites, a well-resourced Sixth Form library, and access to digital academic journals for independent student research.
Professional Growth: Access to specialist CPD in A-Level Marking , Advanced Research Methods , and clear pathways toward Head of Social Sciences or Lead Practitioner roles.
Candidate Profile
Qualification: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a strong honours degree in Sociology or a closely related Social Science discipline.
Subject Knowledge: A deep understanding of the AQA A-Level specification and a passion for staying abreast of current sociological debates and publications.
Pedagogy: A proven track record of securing strong outcomes at Key Stage 5 and the ability to make complex abstract theories relatable to a diverse student body.
