Site Manager
Salary: £280 to £300 p/d
Sector: Structural Alterations / Builderswork The Opportunity We are working with a well-established specialist contractor delivering structural alterations, builderswork and associated construction projects across Central London. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to join their team and take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a specialist environment where quality, programme, coordination and attention to detail are critical. Projects typically involve structural alterations and complex builderswork within existing buildings, often in challenging Central London environments. The Role As Site Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of projects on site. Your responsibilities will include: * Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating site activities * Planning and sequencing works to maintain programme * Managing specialist subcontractors and site operatives * Coordinating structural alterations, temporary works and associated builderswork * Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, engineers and consultants * Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications and structural details * Ensuring works are completed to the required quality and specification * Maintaining high standards of health & safety and site housekeeping * Carrying out regular inspections and ensuring works are properly recorded * Managing deliveries, logistics and site access within Central London environments * Identifying and resolving technical and logistical issues on site * Liaising professionally with clients, consultants and other contractors * Assisting with programme updates, progress reporting and project handover About You We are looking for a Site Manager with a strong background in specialist construction, ideally with experience of structural alterations, refurbishment, cut-and-carve, demolition, temporary works or complex builderswork. You will ideally have: * Proven experience managing construction sites from start to completion * Experience working on structural alteration and/or refurbishment projects * A strong understanding of construction methodology and sequencing * The ability to read and understand construction and structural drawings * Excellent subcontractor and workforce management skills * Strong communication and organisational skills * A proactive approach to problem solving * A good understanding of health & safety requirements * Experience working in Central London or similarly constrained environments * SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid Why Join?
