Senior Trading System Developer (Hiring Immediately)

The role

Fasanara Digital is hiring a Trading Systems Developer to join the Front Office Technology team and help build the trading infrastructure that sits closest to the market. You will work alongside traders, quants and fellow engineers to design, build and run systems that are fast, reliable and easy to extend.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You will own components end to end, from design through deployment and production support, in an environment where correctness and performance both matter.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain front office trading systems, including market data handling, order management and execution components
• Write high-quality, well-tested production code with a strong focus on performance, latency and stability
• Build and maintain connectivity to trading venues and market data sources
• Develop tooling for analytics, monitoring, reporting and research in Python and SQL
• Work with traders and quants to turn trading requirements into robust, maintainable systems
• Capture, store and query market and trading data, including time-series datasets
• Contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions and engineering standards
• Support production systems, diagnose issues quickly and drive root-cause fixes

Requirements

Required skills and experience

• Commercial experience building software in at least one of C++, Java or Rust
• Proficiency in Python for tooling, analysis and automation
• Solid SQL skills, including query design and working with large datasets
• Experience developing in Linux environments, with sound grasp of concurrency and data structures
• Understanding of the trading lifecycle and electronic trading systems, gained in a bank, hedge fund, proprietary trading firm or similar
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the discipline to test and measure before optimising
• Clear communicator who works well with both technical and trading colleagues

Desirable

• Experience with time-series databases such as kdb+/q, ClickHouse, TimescaleDB or InfluxDB
• Experience with low-latency or high-throughput systems
• Familiarity with exchange connectivity, market data protocols and order book handling
• Exposure to crypto or multi-asset markets
• Experience with CI/CD, containerisation and Git-based workflows
