Ref: 2045, Full-Time or Part-Time Nanny – Canary Wharf, London

A family based in Canary Wharf is looking for an experienced nanny to care for their 18-month-old child. The family is open to either a full-time or part-time arrangement and is looking for someone warm, reliable and proactive.

The nanny must speak fluent English. French or Italian would be a bonus but is not essential.

Children
One child aged 18 months.

Working Hours
Option 1: Full-time.
Monday to Friday.
11:00am to 7:00pm.
40 hours per week.

Option 2: Part-time.
3 days per week.
11:00am to 7:00pm.
24 hours per week.
The family is flexible on the working days.

Salary
£19–£22 gross per hour.

Full-time: approximately £760–£880 gross per week.
Part-time: approximately £456–£528 gross per week.

Depending on experience and qualifications.

Start Date
ASAP.

Role Overview
The nanny will be responsible for the child’s daily care, routine, development and wellbeing.

The family is looking for someone who can provide educational and age-appropriate activities as an alternative to nursery. Montessori training or experience with similar early-years methods would be highly valued.

One parent works from home and will be around during the day.

For a full-time role, the family would ideally like someone who is also happy to support with light housekeeping and light household administration during downtime, for example when the child is sleeping.

For a part-time role, light household chores and light administration would be a bonus when the nanny is not with the child.

Main Responsibilities
Providing sole-charge care.
Supporting the child’s routine.
Planning educational activities.
Encouraging learning through play.
Supporting language and social development.
Preparing age-appropriate meals.
Supporting potty training when appropriate.
Maintaining a warm and engaging environment.
Supporting with light housekeeping and light household administration during downtime, if agreed.

Nanny Duties
Preparing and serving healthy meals and snacks.
Feeding the child.
Bathing and dressing.
Changing nappies.
Supporting potty training.
Managing naps and the daily routine.
Planning Montessori-inspired activities.
Reading, singing and creative play.
Taking the child to classes, parks and local activities.
Supporting physical, emotional and educational development.
Encouraging independence and good manners.
Keeping parents updated on the child’s day.

Child-Related Housekeeping
Child’s laundry.
Keeping the child’s bedroom and play areas tidy.
Cleaning bottles, cups and feeding equipment.
Tidying after meals and activities.
Organising toys, books and clothes.
Preparing the child’s belongings for outings.
Child-related duties only.
No deep cleaning.

Light Household Support
Light household chores during downtime.
Light household administration if required.
Keeping shared areas tidy after use.
Helping maintain an organised home environment.
No deep cleaning.

Requirements
Fluent English speaker.
French or Italian would be a bonus.
Previous professional nanny experience.
Experience caring for toddlers.
Experience in both home and educational settings preferred.
Montessori training or experience preferred.
Relevant childcare or education qualifications.
Confident supporting potty training.
Warm, friendly and engaging with children.
Reliable, proactive and organised.
Comfortable working in a home where one parent works from home.
Happy to support with light housekeeping and light household administration during downtime.
Enhanced DBS check.
Paediatric First Aid certificate.
Excellent references.
