Repair & Maintenance Operative

We are recruiting for Repair & Maintenance (R&M) Operatives across the Thames Valley area. This position will be responsible for R&M across our North London network, with occasional travel to South London when required.
  • Base location: North London - Kentish Town (NW5 1TN) or Lea Bridge Depot (E5 9RJ)
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
  • Working pattern or hours: Average 45 hours a week on a shift pattern including a standby rota.
  • What you’ll be doing as a Repair & Maintenance Operative: As an R&M Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring that all of the work which you undertake is completed to the correct safety and quality standards as directed by the R&M Technician. What you should bring to the role
    • Previous experience/training in a manual handling environment
    • You must be able to meet the physical demands of the role with the ability to work outdoors in all weathers
    • Be competent with IT and be computer literate
    • Use your initiative and problem-solve where repairs are required
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical messages in a simple way
    • Have a can-do, positive attitude, remaining open to new ideas and change
    • Be self-motivated and confident in completing tasks to the best of your ability
    • Advantageous if you have a Street works qualification (NRSWA), an EUSR Water Hygiene card, Service Avoidance L2 and/or a First aid qualification, but not essential.
