Location: North London (hybrid, 2 days in the office)

Pay: £25 – £28 per hour (umbrella)

Summary: Interim Compliance Officer for a local authority in North London. You'll support the compliance team that keeps homes safe across fire, water, electrical, gas, lifts and asbestos. Hybrid, £23 – £28/hr.

Description:

Braxfield Recruitment is working with a local authority in North London to find an interim Compliance Officer. You'll join their busy Building Safety & Compliance team on a 6 – 12 month contract.

You'll support the team that manages statutory compliance across the council's domestic housing stock. You'll keep records accurate, make sure inspections happen on time and make sure follow-up works are tracked through to completion.

The role

Provide administrative support across the main compliance areas: fire, water hygiene, electrical, gas, lifts and asbestos


Keep compliance databases and certificate records up to date and accurate


Track inspection programmes, servicing schedules and remedial actions, and chase contractors for certificates and updates


Book access appointments and liaise with residents, contractors and internal teams


Produce compliance performance reports and help prepare for audits


Flag overdue or non-compliant properties to the relevant officers

About you

Experience in a compliance, building safety or housing admin role, ideally in social housing


Working knowledge of the main compliance areas in domestic properties


Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and solid Excel and database skills


Confident dealing with contractors, residents and colleagues


Experience with housing management or compliance systems is a plus
