Caretaker - Romford
A well-established and busy secondary school in Romford is seeking a reliable, proactive, and hardworking Caretaker to join their facilities team. This is a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP, providing essential support to ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained.
About the Role
As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will ensure the environment is safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
The role involves hands-on tasks, including minor maintenance, cleaning, health and safety checks, and assisting with school events. A proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented approach is essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct daily inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness
• Perform minor maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs
• Support health and safety compliance and report any hazards
• Assist with room and hall setups for lessons, meetings, and school events
• Coordinate deliveries, waste management, and equipment storage
• Support larger site projects and renovations as required
