Production Operative
Position: Production Operative
Proactive are currently recruiting for a Production Operative to join an established and growing manufacturing business.
As a Production Operative, you'll be supporting a variety of manufacturing and workshop activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting day-to-day manufacturing and workshop activities across multiple areas of the business
- Carrying out basic mechanical assembly work using technical drawings and work instructions
- Operating workshop machinery and hand tools to complete manufacturing tasks
- Carrying out basic metalworking operations, including drilling and tapping
- Cutting materials to specification using appropriate workshop equipment
- Preparing components for further manufacturing processes
- Supporting surface preparation activities where required
- Selecting and preparing components and materials for production
- Packing completed work ready for dispatch
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Moving materials and finished products safely around the workplace
Skills:
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing or workshop environment is essential
- Practical experience with hand tools and workshop equipment
- Experience of basic metalworking
- Ability to read and interpret technical or assembly drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to follow instructions from management and other members of the team
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and use your own initiative
- Good time management and ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues across different areas of the business
- Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods
- Physically capable of lifting and moving products weighing up to 15kg
- Comfortable with bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching and stretching as part of the role
