Summary

Cargiant, based in London, are looking to acquire a dedicated motor vehicle apprentice technician whilst working towards a Level 2 Autocare Technician apprenticeship. Ideally, the candidate will have some experience related to the motor vehicle trade.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As an apprentice, you will be working alongside a team of experienced technicians where you will learn to maintain and repair customer vehicles to a very high standard.

Your duties will include:

• Servicing - working to guidelines to ensure a vehicle is running at optimum performance
• Maintenance - replacing parts that have wear and tear before they fail
• Repair - diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure is running at optimum performance

What you'll learn

• Apply state-of-health condition monitoring tests to high voltage batteries and chargers for electrified cars, car derived vans, or light goods vehicles.
• Apply four-wheel geometry checks and adjustments to cars, car derived vans, and light goods vehicles.
• Apply safe working practices and procedures to isolate electrified vehicles for maintenance.
• Record vehicle service maintenance, parts replacement, or repair.
• Apply customer service principles and organisational customer care practices. For example, identifying customer and vehicle needs, resolve low level customer complaints, make recommendations to customers based on results of inspection, maintenance, or repair of vehicles, customer payment transactions and organisational sales processes.
