Special Needs Assistant
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00
Location: SEN School, London Borough of Tower Hamlets
Pay: Weekly (competitive rates)
SEN School is a secondary special school for students aged 11 to 19 with severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) . A significant proportion of our learners also have additional sensory and physical impairments , requiring a highly personalised and supportive approach to learning.
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with previous experience in PMLD settings to join our dedicated team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with complex learning, sensory, and physical needs.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and communication support.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver individualised learning programmes.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience working with students with PMLD is required.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable students.
