Are you an experienced and proactive Premises Manager looking for a rewarding leadership role in a school environment? We are seeking a full-time Premises Manager to join a prestigious independent school in Lambeth, starting ASAP. This permanent position offers the opportunity to oversee the management, maintenance, and security of the school site, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

About the Role
The Premises Manager will lead and coordinate all aspects of the school’s facilities, ensuring buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained to the highest standard. You will manage a small team of site staff, oversee contractors, and implement health and safety procedures across the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the overall maintenance and security of the school premises.

  • Leading, supervising, and supporting the site staff team.

  • Coordinating and overseeing repairs, contractors, and preventative maintenance programs.

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, fire safety, and risk assessments.

  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and incidents.

  • Supporting the setup of facilities for school events, assemblies, and activities.

  • Monitoring budgets related to premises and facilities management.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in premises management, facilities management, or caretaking leadership roles.

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance, health and safety regulations, and risk assessment procedures.

  • Leadership and team management experience.

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Professional, proactive, and reliable approach to managing a busy school site.
