We are seeking an intellectually curious and technically skilled Physics Teacher to join a 'Good' secondary school . In this role, you will inspire students to look beyond the surface of the physical world, from the mechanics of local infrastructure to the vast complexities of astrophysics.
The Department & Scientific Culture
You will be part of a collaborative Science faculty that prioritizes "hands-on, minds-on" learning, where the laboratory is a space for discovery and rigorous testing.
The department features specialized Physics labs equipped for experiments in electromagnetism, wave optics, and thermal physics, supported by a dedicated technical team.
As a 'Good' school, we focus on making Physics accessible and exciting, utilizing modern data-logging equipment and simulations to visualize abstract concepts.
The department is a hub for STEM initiative, running popular extracurricular clubs that focus on rocketry, robotics, and the "physics of sport."

Practical Leadership: Planning and executing safe, high-impact practical investigations that bring the laws of motion, energy, and electricity to life.
Diagnostic Assessment: Utilizing regular low-stakes testing to identify and correct common misconceptions in particle model theory and field forces.
STEM Advocacy: Promoting Physics-based career pathways, highlighting the borough's proximity to London’s engineering, telecommunications, and medical physics sectors.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a practitioner who can explain the "how" and "why" of the universe with clarity and enthusiasm. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Physics or a related Engineering discipline.
Technical Authority: A deep understanding of the GCSE and A-Level Physics specifications and a commitment to maintaining rigorous laboratory safety standards.
Engagement & Inspiration: The ability to motivate students of all abilities, using real-world analogies to make the invisible forces of physics tangible.
Collaborative Spirit: A proactive professional who is eager to share resources and participate in the wider life of the Science department.
Why Join Us?
