Sales Development Representative (UK)

IONA
London

Would you like to be part of building growth that glows as bright as the Northern Lights?

We are IONA, an award-winning composable commerce consultancy with headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. Our team operates across Finland, the UK and the Philippines. When you join IONA, you’ll become part of a global team of over 50 professionals. Our clients include internationally recognised companies like Marimekko (yes, Jacqueline Kennedy, Elton John and Sarah Jessica Parker wore Marimekko!) and Harvia (yes, the sauna brand – let’s conquer the world one sauna at a time!). We work with modern, API-first, and microservices-based solutions and are proud to be a MACH-certified partner.

In August, IONA was once again named one of Finland’s fastest-growing companies (Witted Insights). Now we’re expanding our footprint in the UK. We’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to be the third person to join our London team and play a key role in developing our UK operations into a long-term success!

What is this role like?

As our SDR, you’ll turn curiosity and commercial drive into real growth. You’ll reach out to new prospects, explore their challenges and show how IONA can help them succeed in digital commerce. You’ll also get to join sales meetings and support the creation of winning proposals. You will report directly to Sales Development & Partnerships Lead, Eeva Tähkälä (Helsinki) and UK Managing Director, Dan Fountain . You’ll also work closely with our experienced Account Executive, Mark Symons (London) . We are currently setting up an office in London, and we hope you’ll join us there weekly, with very occasional travel to Helsinki.

This is a chance for an ambitious individual to grow for example into senior sales, marketing or ecommerce consulting roles as IONA continues its international journey.

Key responsibilities:
  • Drive outbound prospecting through email, LinkedIn, phone and events to generate new business opportunities
  • Manage inbound leads and nurture them systematically
  • Build strong awareness of IONA’s story and value proposition and communicate it effectively to different stakeholders
  • Work closely with the UK and Finnish sales teams to meet contacting and meeting targets
  • Use modern CRM and sales tools to track and optimise activities
  • Contribute to proposal creation and support the overall sales cycle

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record in B2B sales
  • At least 1 year of B2B sales development or business development experience
  • Experience with basic sales development tools (like CRM)
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to take ownership of your work, while thriving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Process-oriented mindset, attention to detail and resilience in outbound contacting
  • A curious, growth-oriented attitude – eager to learn, adapt and succeed in a scaling company
  • Bonus if you have familiarity with selling consulting services

Why join us?

  • This is an opportunity to be part of building IONA’s UK operations from the ground up
  • Work in an international team that combines Nordic values with global ambitions
  • A clear career path: grow into senior sales, marketing or ecommerce consulting roles
  • Learn from and collaborate with seasoned sales leaders and consultants

Apply by sending your CV and motivation letter with your salary request by Oct 19 . The first interview is with Anniina Tchernych (TA & HRD at IONA) , followed by a short case assignment that you’ll present to our Sales leaders. The final discussion is with our Group CCO.

We hope you can start as soon as possible, with the exact date agreed together! Got questions? Call Anniina (+358 40 5192647) for more details: Wed, Oct 14 at 8–9:30 (UK)
