We’re looking for two Quality Assurance Managers to help us deliver high quality recruitment campaigns at pace.

As an independent public body, the Judicial Appointments Commission is responsible for designing, planning, and running recruitment campaigns to select judges in the courts and tribunals, up to and including the High Court, as well as non-legal tribunal members. With a new recruitment campaign launched every couple of weeks, and statutory responsibilities to make sure we select candidates on merit and through fair and open competition, it’s essential that our processes are robust, inclusive, and attractive to candidates from the widest possible backgrounds.

Our Quality Assurance Managers play a pivotal role in helping us to achieve that. They work with our selection exercise teams to make sure our shortlisting and interview materials are both challenging and fair. They use their excellent stakeholder engagement skills to liaise closely with judges and our interview panels to make sure our materials and reports are accurate. They also take the lead on our feedback processes, ensuring that candidates get appropriate feedback, while also helping the JAC to consider ways we can keeping improving and strengthening our processes in the future.

Main responsibilities
• Reviewing JAC shortlisting and selection materials to ensure quality standards are met across a range of different recruitment campaigns, while ensuring JAC policies and procedures are followed.
• Liaising with judges in the drafting and production of shortlisting and selection materials for a range of different recruitment campaigns.
• Overseeing the production of the candidate assessment reports including briefing and supporting the JAC’s cadre of panel members to draft high quality, accurate and consistent reports.
• Presenting the JAC’s intended sifting and selection day materials to senior stakeholders.
• Manage the JAC’s recruitment day observation programme, ensuring that an appropriate level of interviews are observed in line with procedure.
• Lead the provision of candidate feedback using a range of different data sources to produce informative and accessible reports.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within the production of JAC selection materials, or recruitment processes. Presenting findings and ‘lessons learned’ to key internal stakeholders.

Essential Criteria
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise to deadlines and work to quality standards across a range of different projects.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.
• An ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
• A pro-active approach to identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Experience of working in a quality assurance role, or relevant transferrable skills.
• The ability to quickly learn to use unfamiliar software to a good standard, with appropriate training.
