Your Team

You'll join a collaborative, high-performing team as a Copywriter, led by the Head of Creative, dedicated to storytelling, timeless elegance, and tailored craftsmanship. As part of Debenhams Group, our mission is to empower confidence and command attention through beautifully bold fashion while connecting our community with brands they love. Grounded in our values to Be Brave, Be Creative, and Be a Community, we work closely across Marketing, E-Commerce, and Social teams to drive innovation and make a lasting impact.

The Role

As a Copywriter, your responsibilities are:

• Craft engaging and original copy across all marketing channels, including email, social media, blog, and web.
• Deliver a consistent and distinctive brand tone of voice across all platforms and touchpoints.
• Tailor messaging to suit different digital platforms, formats, and audiences.
• Write content for our Loyalty Programme, such as monthly competitions, event invitations and a lifestyle newsletter.
• Collaborate closely with the SEO team to optimise copy, product and page descriptions and maintain the blog calendar in line with data.
• Write, edit, and publish blog posts.
• Be reactive to daily workload and last-minute requests from the wider business.
• Handle ad-hoc direct mail and out-of-home copywriting requests.
• Work with AI tools such as Chat GPT and Jasper to drive efficiency and automation where appropriate
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with teams across the organisation.
• Communicate effectively to ensure all channels are aligned with campaign copy and storytelling angles.

• Strong writing fundamentals, excellent grammar, and exceptional attention to detail.
• A strong interest in womenswear trends, digital culture, and the Karen Millen aesthetic.
• Highly organised, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of high-volume, deadline-driven tasks.
• A collaborative attitude with a genuine eagerness to learn, take feedback, and develop skills within a creative team.
• A team player with a strong collaborative mindset and a pro-active attitude.
• Ability to work independently, manage own time effectively, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• A genuine interest in fashion and retail.
